At SOVA Shades, we believe ordering custom window coverings should be clear, transparent, and straightforward. These Terms & Conditions explain how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we ask from you to help ensure the best possible experience.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, together with our Shipping & Delivery Policy and Returns, Remakes & Warranty Policy.
Website Use
By accessing this website, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes. SOVA Shades reserves the right to refuse service, suspend access, or cancel orders where misuse, fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity is suspected.
Product Information
We make every effort to accurately present our products, including colours, specifications, pricing, dimensions and photography. However, occasional errors may occur.
SOVA Shades reserves the right to correct errors, update information, discontinue products, or revise pricing without prior notice.
Product photographs and renderings are intended as general representations and should not be considered exact reproductions.
Custom-Made Products
All Drapes, Curtains, Shades, Blinds, Hardware, Tracks, Motorized Systems, Pillow Covers and other customized products are manufactured specifically according to the selections submitted by the customer.
Because each order is custom made, it cannot be resold and is subject to the policies described in these Terms.
Measurements
Customers are solely responsible for verifying all measurements, specifications and selections before placing an order. Products are manufactured exactly according to the information submitted by the customer.
Incorrect measurements are not manufacturing defects.
Colours, Fabrics & Natural Variations
Colours may appear differently depending on monitors, mobile devices, lighting conditions and room environments.
Dye lot variation, colour variation, weave, texture, natural fibres and natural fading over time are normal characteristics of textile products and are not manufacturing defects. These characteristics are not grounds for returns, refunds, replacements or warranty claims.
Pricing & Payment
Payment must be received before production begins. Prices, promotions and product availability may change without notice.
Order Changes & Cancellations
Orders may be modified within 24 hours provided production has not begun.
Orders cancelled before production begins are eligible for a full refund.
Once production has started, orders cannot be cancelled, modified, refunded or exchanged.
Shipping, Delivery, Duties & Customs
Most custom orders are delivered within approximately 3–5 weeks from the order date. Delivery estimates are provided for planning purposes only.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. Re-shipping due to an incorrect address may result in additional shipping charges.
Orders over CAD $499 qualify for free shipping in Canada and the United States. Applicable duties and customs clearance fees for eligible shipments are handled by SOVA Shades unless otherwise stated.
Shipping and customs policies may be updated as regulations change.
Installation Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring products can be safely and properly installed.
SOVA Shades is not responsible for installation costs, labour charges, contractor fees, electrical work, wall repairs, property damage, or damage caused during installation or by third-party installers.
Inability to install a product does not constitute a product defect.
Returns, Remakes & Warranty
Please refer to our Returns, Remakes & Warranty Policy.
Measurement errors, colour variation, dye lot variation, natural fading, change of mind and personal preference are not manufacturing defects.
Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
Personal Preference
Returns, refunds, exchanges or remakes will not be approved because of change of mind, dissatisfaction with colour expectations, style preference, texture preference, renovation changes or other aesthetic preferences after production has begun.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOVA Shades shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, including labour, installation, contractor fees, removal, reinstallation, loss of profits, business interruption or any damages exceeding the purchase price of the product.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, branding and product descriptions, is the property of SOVA Shades and may not be copied, reproduced or distributed without prior written permission.
Force Majeure
SOVA Shades shall not be responsible for delays or failure to perform resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, labour shortages, transportation disruptions, customs delays, government actions, supply chain interruptions or public health emergencies.
Right to Refuse Orders
SOVA Shades reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, limit or cancel any order, including orders affected by pricing errors, suspected fraud, abusive conduct, product availability or other circumstances that reasonably require such action.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the website following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the applicable laws of Canada.
